The Mid-South Fair’s move to DeSoto County this year is not the only major change to the program. Sunday, Sept. 27 has officially been designated as “Ole Miss Day” at the fair. While a new facility is being built in Tunica County, the DeSoto Center in Southaven will be the site of the 2009 fair.
For Ole Miss Day, the departments of Enrollment Services, Athletics, Ticketing, Marketing, Outreach and other campus representatives will all be available to promote the university and provide promotional materials and information.
The Ole Miss Alumni Association will host the UM Catfish Cookout during Ole Miss Day at the 2009 Mid-South Fair on Sunday, Sept 27. Taylor Grocery restaurant will provide catfish and chicken tender plates in the air-conditioned tent next to the outdoor stage and all Ole Miss Day events at the fair.
UM coaches from various sports will be in attendance at the cookout to greet fans and discuss the upcoming season. Administrative officials from the Athletics and Ticketing departments will be on hand as well. There will also be a catfish racing event held near the tent.
Adult plate: $12 — 3 pieces of fried catfish and/or fried chicken tenders, coleslaw, french fries, hushpuppies and a drink.
